Cosmic Garden Project is a Music & Art Collective based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The three founding members are Per Svensson (The New Alchemy, The Kingdom of Evol), Dan Söderqvist (Älgarnas Trädgård, Twice a Man) and Pontus Torstensson (Tentakel, The Exorcist GBG). They started to improvise music together at the very end of 2019. Three years later they had elaborated their main themes into an alternative world building project, presented on this double album, The Green Reverb. Essential recordings have been made at Silence Studio, in Koppom, Värmland, together with legendary Sound Engineer and Producer Anders Lind. Other musicians have made additions to some songs, Lisen Rylander Löve on Saxophone and Rasmus Alkestrand on Sitar. The Music on The Green Reverb is a mix of different genres; there is a strong vibe of 60’s psychedelia here, but also ambient, romantic, gothic, even ritual. This music has a poetic vision to evoke the spirits of the earth, to fight back environmental destruction, and like shamans communicate with the spirit or the mind of the planet, to heal, to survive...to be in communication with nature and all of its creatures. Sounds from field recordings are blended with organic and electronic instruments.

The Green Reverb

”The Creatures inside the Tree, Whispering, The Roots under this Tree, Enchanted and Released, Connected to this Tree, Tree, Tree, Trees, The Energy we feel, The Forest Fantasies, As far as the Eyes can See” (Enchanted Tree - Cosmic Garden Project) Nature, Imagination, Dreams are sources of inspiration in the project. A surreal landscape starting to take shape. We are travelling, exploring unknown territories. The world we live in have many dimensions apart from the obvious reality. Dreams and imagination create worlds that are sometimes as real. Environmental awareness is in the core of the project. Awareness of the green side of the mind was called Veriditas by the twelfth-century visionary Hildegard von Bingen, but Viriditas is also the title of a song on Älgarnas Trädgård’s debut album, the first song that Söderqvist wrote and published in 1972. It seems that life is not a straight line, but a spiral where certain ideas come back in a slightly different way through time and space. ” Look at the pattern this seashell makes. The dappled whorl, curving inward to infinity. That’s the shape of the universe itself. There’s a constant pressure, pushing toward pattern. A tendency in matter to evolve into ever more complex forms. It’s a kind of pattern gravity, a holy greening power we call viriditas, and it is the driving force in the cosmos. Life, you see.” (Kim Stanley Robinson)
