Georgia Velivasaki & Luis Borda take us on a musical journey from Crete, her native to Argentina, where he was born.
"Vergüenza!" the spanish word for shame and dishonor opens the album and gives the direction: We live in difficult times, the tragedy of immigration, of loss and looking for a place in the world is omnipresent. The lyrics of “Aleli” revolve around the reality of those who lost their home , those who look back and hope the lost places will recover.

Luis Borda, shows an expressive versatility on his acoustic guitar and can sound alternately delicate and powerful. Georgia Veilivasaki sings with fervor and ardor. The music is up to date and full of poetry. Mixing Crete music with Argentinian Tango!
The musicians on this CD come from Greece, Argentina, Germany and France. Artists without borders, in a time full of borders.

Born and brought up in Heraklion, Crete, with roots from the Lasithi Plateau as well as Bourla, Asia Minor. In her greater family circle there have always been “mantinadologues” (traditional Cretan song writers) and musicians, with the result that writing and music influenced her and her choices from the very beginning of her life.
She writes stories, poems and lyrics, and has been recording since 1994. At the present time she has been working with the composer/director Costantine Athyrides on the rock opera Alexander the Great, both on the stage and in the recording studio, with the composer Phighi Likoudi on her own works, with the guitarist Andreas Ziakas in live perfomances and concerts, as well as with the Argentinian maestro, pioneer of Neuvo Tango in Europe, Luis Borda, with whom she is preparing a new personal recording entitled Aleli.
Luis Borda was born and raised in Buenos Aires and lives in Munich. He is recognized among the most important tango composers, guitarists as well as being one of the pioneers of the Tango Nuevo in Europe.
