AFI’s seventh album, Decemberunderground, celebrates its 20th anniversary with a reissue of one of the band’s defining records. Blending gothic atmospherics, alt-rock hooks and electronic textures, the album captured AFI at their most ambitious and emotionally charged. Described by vocalist Davey Havok as “a time and a place” for the detached and disillusioned, Decemberunderground channels isolation, romance and escapism into a widescreen collection that helped cement the band’s crossover success.
