Hildur Guðnadóttir’s Mount A was originally released in 2006 as her debut solo album. Recorded alone with her cello and issued under the pseudonym Lost in Hildurness, it marked the beginning of a deeply personal body of work. Created as a space to “hear my own thoughts”, the album's sparse, intimate compositions reveal the early development of Guðnadóttir’s distinctive voice. Twenty years on, the music remains as affecting as ever, providing the source material for the orchestral reinterpretations heard on This Will Be Us.
