Stanley Turrentine’s 1964 album In Memory Of captures the saxophonist at the height of his powers, moving between swinging hard bop, lyrical ballads and African-inspired rhythms. He leads a stellar sextet with Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Curtis Fuller on trombone, Herbie Hancock on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Otis ‘Candy’ Finch on drums, resulting in a dynamic and richly expressive Blue Note session.

Stereo Tone Poet edition 180g vinyl LP produced by Joe Harley and mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analogue master tapes. Packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
