Fire! is also their vehicle for rekindling their instrumental skills and playing outside their comfort zones, or collaborating with prestigious guests such as Jim O´Rourke (Unreleased?, 2011) and Oren Ambarchi (In The Mouth A Hand, 2012). A parallel but no less powerful project is their gargantuan Fire! Orchestra, previously a 30 piece behemoth (now scaled down to a mere 18 piece) of a band that convened for the first time in January 2012 for a memorable concert.</p>
<p>Their third album is expected later in 2016. She Sleeps, She Sleeps is the trio´s fifth album and displays an intriguing coctail of dark and brooding, hypnotic slowcore jazz. After having provided live music for the long running play Det Flygande Barnet at Orionteatern in Stockholm in February and March 2015, they were strongly inspired to return to the theater´s amazing, large industrial hall and set up the necessary studio equipment.
As Mats explains:<br />"After two years of extreme activities with the Fire! Orchestra we felt an urge to record in a studio setting and to strip everything down; fewer instruments, acoustic instruments, down to the roots of it all - raw, inyrface, beautiful. And with two amazing guests adding layers of poetic beauty: Oren Ambarchi on guitar and Leo Svensson on cello, She Sleeps, She Sleeps is where we are right now - no return!"
