Viceroy hit every pair of ears in their path with electrified sonic punches.

At the same time, they don’t shy away from embracing listeners with English lyrics. elements from the experimental literature of the Beat Generation (Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs), William Blake, Charles Baudelaire and the raw spontaneity of Charles Bukowski and the enigmatic E.E. Cummings can be detected not only in words, but also in music itself .

For those who enjoy saying “they remind me of…,” the band readily admits their influences range from Sonic Youth, Fontaines D.C., and New York free jazz, to Greek underground legends like Trypes and Pavlos Sidiropoulos.

The indie trio, all 20 years old, consists of Nikos Kamakas (guitar, vocals), Alex Iliadis (bass), and Giorgos Yavassidis (drums), and hails from Thessaloniki. Their debut album , Freedom Tastes Like Breakfast, was released, accompanied by a music video for “On A Sunday”, following the launch of their first single “Statira” ,also accompanied by a music video, in May 2025, both directed by Aris Kapelanos. The music production of this album has been handled by Joseph Powell of Youth Valley.

Viceroy recently appeared as a guest headliner at the Schoolwave Festival in Technopolis, Athens (July 2025).
