Inspired by the love and passion for the 80’s Synth-Pop and New Wave scene, Yellow Red creates a sound that blends analog nostalgia with a fresh and modern digital tone, infused with catchy melodies and reflective lyrics that explore the ups and downs of modern life, delving into themes of love, human connection, and self-discovery.
The debut album, titled "My Little Words", is an autobiographical attempt that emphasizes to life’s unpredictable journey, and the emotions tied to it. It serves as a contemplative meditation on the inevitability of challenges and the resilience required to navigate through them.
The album’s themes include love and devotion, the passage of time, lost childhood innocence, the “collision” of childhood and adulthood, and how loss and mortality can serve as a catalyst to live bravely and move forward. It reflects on the need to sometimes mask our internal reality with a “false” façade as a necessary means of survival.
At other times, it expresses disillusionment with social realities or personal relationships that stifle dreams and cause emotional wounds and alienation. It critiques the forces that drain youthful optimism and vitality.
"My Little Words" captures and highlights the ongoing struggle with overthinking, existential weight, and the repression of emotions, the emptiness of materialism, and the disappointment of modern life. It encourages leaving behind the present reality and returning to moments of childhood, where spontaneity, inner vibrancy, and dancing act as a revitalizing call to reconnect with ourselves.
It serves as a reminder that life is an open road, and there is always an opportunity to dance, dream, and start from the beginning.
